Medford - Week 22

Hola hola hola,

So this week was a blast!  Elder Thacker is super cool and this area is awesome.  Also lots of cool Elders to hang out with.

We did a bunch of service this week.  I love doing service.  Too much fun.  We helped a lot of members out doing yard work or building stairs.  We also help out at Saint Vincent thrift shop and kitchen.  Also worked at Calvary temple food pantry.  Doing work!

This week I ate a chile del diablo.  Hotter than a habernero.  I just ate a little haha.

Had interviews with President Russell.  It's always good talking to him.  We also watched Meet the Mormons.  Such an awesome movie!  Pretty soon we will be able to use it for teaching.

So J. is still on date for Nov. 15 and also D. and F. were my investigators from last year.  They are still here and are starting to progress now and want to get baptized.  It's awesome!

Went on exchanges with my district leader Elder Sorensen.  He's a cool guy.

This last Sunday was the Primary Program.  I was here last year for it also.  It was trippy.  It was nice listening to the kids sing.  There were some funny parts that people couldn't help but just laugh haha.

Rojas family was happy to see me again.  I guess they've been in Sacramento because one of their cousins just got baptized.  But they were super excited that I was back in Medford.

I'm loving the mission life.  Too much fun. (So happy he is loving it.)

Have an amazing week!

I love you guys so much!

Love,
Elder Perrine

Another short letter but I did get 3 pics from his this time. :)

Medford - Week 21

Hola Madre,

So this week was nice.  It's awesome being back in my first area. All the members still remember me and it's a blast here.

So my new apartment is pretty nice.  Still has a washer and dryer, which is awesome and a dishwasher.  There's a super nice bike trail right next to our apartment that connects everywhere in the city.  It's right next to the river too.  Nice morning runs and bike rides.

I get to drive now a car now. NASCAR! Haha

So we get to do a bunch of service as missionaries now.  It's  awesome.  I love doing service.  We work a lot at Saint Vincent's in the kitchen and thrift store. It's fun.  There's this new website from
the church Justserve.org.  You can sign up and see service projects around your area.  Super cool.  (Haven't had a chance to check out the website yet, but it sounds cool.)

Got a new investigator this week and on his second lesson we invited him to be baptized and he said YES!  So crazy!  His date is for Nov. 15.  His name is J.  Pray for him.

The Elders in this area are super awesome and chill.  It's a blast and my comp is a super cool guy.

Lovin it!

I look forward to my package :)

Have an amazing week!

Love,
Elder Perrine

Super short emails the past 2 weeks from him.  That must just mean he is very busy, which is awesome!!  However, no pics either. :(

Medford - Week 20 (Transfers)

Hola hola hola Madre,

Sorry I didn't email yesterday.  The day was pretty crazy with Transfers.  I'm now in Medford.  Back home again haha. (Kevin was in Medford before he came home.)  My companion is Elder Thacker but he is super chill and a cool guy.  I'm super excited for this transfer.  Fowler is now training in K-Falls.  A greenie is going with him now.  I got to have dinner with the Clantons yesterday.  Awesome!  They are a super cool family.  (Love the Clanton family!)

So last P-Day we had a fun day.  We played Pool with H. and had Zone mini Olympics.  We played Wiffle ball, water balloon toss, silly string competition, basketball, and marshmallow contest where they had to stuff their mouths with marshmallows.  Super funny and really fun!
I really enjoyed watching conference.  It has a stronger impact when your on a mission and get to hear from the Prophets and Apostles.  So awesome!

So since I was leaving I had to go say bye to everyone.  That took a while but it was good to be able to say bye to everyone.  I took lots of pics Haha. I'm going to miss K-Falls but Medford is good as well.

Sister Galindo made me a cake since I was leaving.  It was yummy.

The night before I left A. Gomez, a recent convert, passed away.  She was really old and came from a rough past.  It was really cool to be able to know her for the short time I did.  She always had a smile on her face and loved having us over.  It's amazing how the gospel can change someone's life.

So for conference something that really stuck out to me was having a personal testimomy.  That talked about having a strong testimony and how everyday we need to strengthen it even more.  As we come to have a stronger testimony the mysteries of God will be unfolded to us and we can increase in our knowledge and faith.  I want to encourage you to gain a stronger Testimony and grow in your faith. =)

Have an amazing week!

Love you guys!
