Klammath Falls - Week 6

Hola Mom,

Este Semana pasado fue muy bueno.  Para estar en un mision es muy divertido y yo siempre tengo muchas experiencias.  (From what I understand it says, "This past week was very good. To be on a mission is very fun and I have many experiences.)

SO this week was pretty decent.  Lots of pics this week!

So Monday we had a Branch BBQ/ Swimming party.  I wish I could of gone swimming haha. Food was really good though and it was fun hanging with the Branch.

It rained a couple days this week.  The rain was nice.

Had a couple ice cream nights.  We have ice cream nights when the day isn't going well so we just go eat ice cream.  Yuummy!

An Elder went home this past week.  Elder A. has some kidney issues he has to get fixed before he comes back out.  Stupid kidneys! haha ( I agree.  Those darn kidneys)

Our van got hit this week also.  We were driving through a parking lot and some lady backed out with her big old truck didn't see us and hit the side of the van.  It's not too bad.  Personally I'd
just leave the dent but the church wants their cars perfect.

Had dinner at Sister Bennets restaurant again this week.  Bomb food like always.  (I notice he talks A LOT about food in his emails.  At least he is eating well)

SO this week during soccer my khaki pants finally gave out on me.  They ripped like two weeks ago and I fixed them and during soccer they completely ripped.  They are gonners now.  Time to burn them haha.  I went beast mode in soccer though.  Awesome goals!  (Such a humble man.  I asked him why he was playing soccer in his khaki's and he said that they can only change into shorts on P days.  There are a group of boys in the Branch that can only play on Saturday night so I guess he plays in his shirt and tie.  He doesn't care what he is wearing as long as he can play soccer.)

G. and his two sons came to church this week. Yayyyyy!!!  They are the ones we saw playing on the playground at the park one night.  He said he enjoyed church.  (I asked him about G. and it's good to hear he came to church.  He is their only investigator right now)

New Mission President is in now.  President and Sister Russell.  My zone is going to meet him Wednesday.  Should be fun!

Found this in my studies this week.  Ensigns are awesome! “To persevere means to maintain the ability to endure, to carry on, to continue in the same state without weakening or perishing. It is being able to go on in the face of pain, oppression, discouragement or suffering without being defeated.”

It has been said that strong men and women are like kites--they only rise higher when the winds of opposition come against them.

Remember that persevering in those things that matter usually requires constant effort. Over time, perseverance will bear the fruit we long to obtain. If our path has no obstacles, our progress will be limited.  Success has a price, and there is no choice but to pay that price in
order to obtain it.

Former U.S. president Calvin Coolidge said:
“Nothing in this world can take the place of perseverance. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘press on’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”

How grateful I am that our Savior, Jesus Christ, endured to the end, fulfilling His atoning mission. He suffered for our sins, and because of His suffering, having “descended below all things” (D&C 88:6; see also 122:8), He understands our pains, depression, anguish, infirmities, and fears. He knows how to help us, encourage us, comfort us, and give us strength to persevere and obtain the crown that is reserved for those who endure.

(The Blessings of Perseverance)

President Uchtdorf said: “The Lord’s way is not to sit at the side of the stream and wait for the water to pass before we cross. It is to come together, roll up our sleeves, go to work, and build a bridge or a boat to cross the waters of our challenges.”

(We Are the Lord’s Hands)

Pretty Good week though!  Thank you for the cool tie.  I love ties!

Well I hope you have a great week. Tell everyone I say HI!

I love you so much!

Elder Perrine
